On October 27th, 2018 the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens hosted a survivors’ breakfast at Governor’s Ballroom, Kimpton Seafire Resort in Grand Cayman. Lion Liz Smith, decked in a stunning outfit , was fully charged and filled the room with her own special brand of electric energy. There were smiles all around as Lion Liz, herself a breast cancer survivor, danced, pranced and swung her “tail” to Katy Perry’s ROAR. The Lions roared and the crowd wanted more!!!
Each survivor in the room, at this much anticipated event, had their own unique story to tell. The room was a sea of beautiful pink, with attendees being treated to a morning of celebration, empowerment and fun.
Important messages included:
“Don’t give up what you love just because you have cancer”.
“Whatever it is you love doing will help get you through”.
“Live in the present and not the past”.
“It’s always good to be surrounded by the people you love”.
