About Our Club
We Make It Easy to Help Others
On April 16, 1993, the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens (LCTG) was sanctioned as duly formed by Lions International, and on May 8, 1993, 30 ladies were inducted with Lion Patricia McField (a past president of the Leo Club of Grand Cayman) chosen to be its charter president.
The Lions Club of Tropical Gardens took up the challenge and began its work in the community, making regular visits to the elderly at home and at the Pines Retirement Home, assisting with many projects within the primary and high schools, the Lighthouse School for the Handicapped, and the Young Parents Program, counseling at the Fairbanks Prison (women’s prison). It also adopted Lions International Sight Program, bringing awareness of various diseases to the public (Lupus, Diabetes Osteoporosis, etc).
The Tropical Gardens Club is best known though for its Breast Cancer awareness campaign in October each year when it conducts awareness meetings in each district on Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac and partners with the Health Services Authority (George Town Hospital) in hosting breast cancer clinics. Doctors, pharmacists and other medical professionals address breast cancer issues and highlight new developments and treatment of the disease. Literature is provided and free mammogram vouchers are given out to women age 40 and older, and to younger women who have a family history of Breast Cancer.

How We Help
It Starts With the Will to Make a Difference
Since our inception, we’ve worked around the clock to expand our causes and help those who need our help. Every contribution goes toward making our world a better place, so if you’re looking to contribute a donation or your time, please get in touch today. Making a positive difference has never been so easy.
Diabetes Education and Awareness
One of our main causes here at Lions Club of Tropical Gardens is Diabetes Education and Awareness, Diabetes is a health issue that touches many lives, particularly those in the Cayman Islands. We spend a significant portion of our resources on tackling this problem. Our club continues to educate the community and spread awareness by providing free health clinics.
Geriatrics and Social Services
One of our goals is to ensure that the most vulnerable and at-risk groups in the Cayman Islands are safe and have their basic needs taken care of. Currently we volunteer and provide resources to the Pines Retirement home, the Golden Age Home, Meals on Wheels, the local hospitals and senior citizens in need. With your generous donations and volunteering efforts, you have the capacity to help us in our endeavour to care for those in need.
